We love creating parties for our clients and it was great working with Josie to realise her vision. Having been to a number to herself, Josie wanted hers to feel different to there others and we were happy to assist!
Charlie & Harvey (EH Events & Marquees) attended a site visit with Josie’s Mum Julie to see the space and see what could be done. The guys chose a nice bit of flat ground in the garden and measured out the space.

They created a plan which incorporated

  • 9m x 15m marquee for the dance and bar area. Lined with alternate black and white lining to create a cool, slick look. 
  • EHs awesome new 6m x 6m clear cone as a furnished chill area.
  • 6m x 3m catering marquee for hot food to be prepared and served from.
  • 3m x 12m tunnel area to create an entrance from the drive way to the marquee. 
  • Toilet block.
  • Finished in diamond grey carpet throughout. 

The technical/decor side of things included

  • Hanging bulb festoon perimeter on low poles to create a party perimeter.
  • Mood lighting throughout the marquees to add ambience.
  • Highlighting a tree in pink creating a focal point. 
  • Main lighting rig hung from the roof of the marquee which included moving lights over the dancefloor with static coloured lighting for the bar area. This gives a great slick look to the marquee.
  • Black & White Dancefloor.
  • Slick black DJ Booth with lighting colour matched.
  • Furniture comprising of Curved LED Bar, White coffee tables, LED Cubes & LED Poseur tables. 
  • Complete power distribution to the marquee from the house power supply saving the cost of a generator. (not always possible but always the first option we explore).

One of our club style DJs took care of the music for the evening. Josie took advantage of our online music planner which meant she could tailor her playlist to her and her friends. 3 SIA approved security staff were also supplied by Pro Event Hire for peace of mind and to make sure everybody had a fun and safe evening.

Its Lucy here, Pro Events very own event girl!

We’re busy, busy, busy over at Pro Event HQ at the height of the summer season. Enquiries are rolling in and equipment is rolling out!

June saw the beginning of a string of jobs at various venues across the East starting at Lords cricket ground with the supply of staging and sound for a charity event.

After that it was on to Childerley Long Barn, Cambridge to create a Wonderland themed evening. With festoon to light the way into the barn and mood lighting inside we created a truly magical atmosphere and our new playing card themed gobos worked a treat!

This year we got to join in the fun for the Strawberries and Creem festival. We supplied festoons and lighting to light up the bars and grounds and hope to play a part in this fantastic event again next year!

Festivals aren’t the only place you’ll find us this summer; weddings, parties, proms and many a hire of our DIY packs are heading out to a venue near you! It was also great to asked back by car giant Vauxhall to supply 13 of their  showrooms with sound, lighting and our VIP entrance package!

We were also very excited to be a part of ‘Miss Europe’ at Theobalds Park, our production team put in a sound system, lighting and catwalk for all of the beautiful models to strut their stuff!

These last few months we’ve added a black and white dance floor to our stock, some very smart (and comfy!) new stools for our poseur tables and 32 amp power distribution. There’s been an increased demand for festoon this summer too so we’ve also added another 200 metres to our stock list along with LED bulbs!

With so much happening and little time to do it it’s all hands on deck! Even admin Lucy has been getting down and dirty in the unit helping to clean equipment between jobs!

We have, however, taken a little time out from the craziness recently to enjoy owner Charlie’s wedding! A great time was had by all and the festoon/mood lighting combo was greatly complimented!


Vauxhall Showroom Event

The Brief

We were contact by car dealership Thurlow Nunn Vauxhall to assist with their VIP weekend sales event that they were holding. The brief was to create an eye catching entrance  which would give customers a VIP style walkway as they entered the showroom. The event was to be held simultaneously across the 13 branches. We worked with the team at Vauxhall to provide a package which would suit all showrooms and give a uniform look to the event as a whole.

The Numbers

The Set Up

4 vans across 2 day with 6 crew ensured a smooth and relaxed set up with each site average set up time being just 30 minutes! We received many comments about how much more professional the set up was over companies previously used.

The Conclusion

They weekend was a great success for the sales teams and they sold record numbers of cars in some of the branches!

We look forward to working with Thurlow Nunn Vauxhall on future sales events over the summer.

We were approached by company Neo Post LTD. They were hosting an end of year party at the lovely Orsett Hall in Essex. After chatting with Clair, they opted for complete room mood lighting, silk flame effects and some intelligent moving lights.

We placed the 16 high power LED units around the room, and worked with Clair to get the colours just right, after showing her some colours, together we decided on a range of reds, oranges and icy cyan blues. Our LED flames were also set to some lovely blues and reds to tie in. Read more…

Thank you Charlie and the Team at Pro-Event Hire. The whole process of organising our DJ was effortless and could not recommend them more. We were able to select 60 of our favourite hits to play, and the ones we did not want to play, and the DJ built a dedicated playlist around this and effortlessly mixed between the different songs. You could also make some special requests if you wanted including when you wanted particular songs to play. You have as much or as little control as you wanted. The DJ set up discreetly and kept the dance floor full all night long!

Pro-Event know how to throw a good party! They DJ’d at our wedding and the night totally exceeded our (high) expectations. Charlie and Richard were fantastic. I was in touch with Charlie over the months planning everything. Richard DJ’d on the night and totally smashed it! He played exactly the kind of music we wanted and had everyone dancing until midnight. It was a very hot day and so the best part of the evening had to be when the guys decided to bring the decks and all the lighting outside so we could party under the stars! It was magical. Our guests didn’t want to the night to be over and were chanting “one more song” at the end, Richard happily obliged! My husband and I had the best night of our lives. Thank you!

Hi Charlie - quick thanks from us for the staging, light and sound equipment package you put together for our wedding Sat 30th May at Wilobe Farm Barn. The truss work was delicately installed and kept minimalist. Light programming was simple and effective, and the quality of equipment was very good.
